The soft-edged look of this lovingly crafted piano gives the instrument an alluring appeal. Created in Pearwood solids and veneer with curly maple accents, the piano's lid rests on the case without an overhand and its double-hinged top flap allows the top to enclose the whole front part of the piano. The romantic, flowing lines of the piano draw not only the eyes, but the soul as well.

An extremely accomplished furniture maker, James Schriber began his career as a woodworker in a small Vermont shop. From there, he went on to the Rochester Institute of Technology and met designers such as Jere Osgood and Wendell Castle who were combining woodcraft and art.
This fusion of woodcraft and art helped propel James forward. He has been a Guest Lecturer at prestigious design schools from Rhode Island to California. His work has been exhibited at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Chicago International New Arts Exhibition, and the Renwick Museum in Washington, D.C.
